Any of you ever have a ColecoVision as a kid? Anyone? Bueller? F*cking young whipper snappers! >=[ Heh. Well, to be honest, I never had one. My first console was a Sega Master System. It was and still is one of the best consoles ever and I don't care what anyone f*cking says, man. Don't mess with SMS! :P Where was I? Oh, yeah. ColecoVision. So, yeah my only connection to that console lies in the awesome feelings that I get when I look at the manufacturer's rainbow colored logo. :DDD
There's something joyously retro about those rainbow colors. Commodore 64 had a similar color scheme and so did Apple until the late 90s. I think they should go back to the old logo. The other ones are sterile and lifeless in comparison. Anyway, I used these colorful, vintage hues as inspiration for this outfit. I wanted to create something with a palpable retro flavor, but that also had a modern edge.
Furthermore (holy sh*t, did I just say that? o_O), I wanted to grab people's attention. I think I succeeded? :D The drivers of many cars slowed down to stare as these photos were taken. *shrug* Behold, bitches. Behold! I clashed giant houndstooth print with rainbow diamonds. Surprisingly, no one asked me if I had gotten dressed in the dark. Haha. The reactions were positive from what I could gather. I was kind of hoping someone would make such a backhanded comment, so I could point out that this little number was made for the dark. I mean, parts of me are glowing like a jellyfish! :DDD
Haters gunna hate on my bioluminescence. Haha. At any rate, I'm curious about which consoles, if any, you guys had as kids and whether you still have them. The only one I still have is my Nintendo. ^_^ <3
P.S. - I just want to thank my friend, Emily, for the turquoise fingerless gloves. She sent them to me about two years ago as part of a care package. I wear them often, but this is my first time showing a picture of me wearing them. So, yeah. Thanks for being awesome! I really do love them! ^_^
