Omg, you guys! I grabbed a coffee before these photos were taken and I scared the shit out of two white ladies. A mother and daughter, I think. I was in the coffee shop bathroom and they came in after me, so I was already in the stall. When I came out, they stopped talking and it was silent until I left.
I don't know if it's because of what I was wearing or the fact that I towered over them both (the 3 inch heel on these boots make me literally 6 feet tall). I nearly died laughing at their fright. People are stupid.
What did they think I was going to do? Steal their purses or something? I didn't even have the sunglasses on or the hood up on my jacket. I felt like I looked snazzy, not scary, but they froze like squirrels in the middle of traffic. Hahaha! Ahhh! Amazing. I guess I did something right with this outfit!
Craziness, bro. Anyway, for this outfit I'm wearing the best marble denim jacket that I will ever own. It's from my sponsor, Sammydress, and it costs about $24 which is crazy, because it should be like twice as much. The jacket is well made, the fabric is thick denim and overall the weight is just right (i.e. not too heavy and not too flimsy). It was the over-sized hood that got me, though. As soon as I saw that, I became utterly obsessed. <3 The jacket is a one-size item. I'm a size small/medium in jackets and it fits me just fine. It comes with a denim string belt which is cleverly hidden inside the fabric of the jacket. I just have the strings tied at each belt hole on my left and right sides, so you can't really see them.
I forgot to mention that the jacket also has pockets! Yay! The sleeves are a bit short. They cover my elbows, but don't quite reach my wrists. That's just how the jacket is designed. The arm holes are elasticized (thankfully!), so I bunched the sleeves just under my elbows and they stayed put. :D
Obviously, I decided to do a really edgy look surrounding the jacket. However, I think the jacket will go with just about anything. You really can't go wrong and it just makes me feel like such a bad ass. Haha.
Ok, enough about the jacket! ^_^ You've seen every other part of this outfit, except the faux leather vest. I got that beauty from my clothing swap group. It was a gift, actually. The girl who gave it to me just didn't want it anymore. It was new with tags and she just offered to send it to me. I was so surprised. I said people were stupid earlier, but some people can be really sweet and altruistic, also. Apparently, a lot of those people are in my clothing swap group. So, yeah. I love you, ladies! <3
You might recognize the grey sleeveless tank dress from this previous post. It hits me at an awkward length, so I just have it permanently knotted on one side. :DDD I last wore the red and black plaid high-low top here and I last wore the sheer long sleeved American Apparel lace body suit here.
That's basically it! I layered up, but the layering is fairly straight forward. I played around with the faux leather vest a bit (i.e. zipping it up completely and turning the collar up, then unzipping to create a fold before turning the collar down). I like to play around with little details. Also, I felt like the plaid top was needed to bring more color and interest to the outfit. Without it, this style would have been a bit on the boring side (this is just my opinion and I realize I probably hold myself to too high of a standard).
Finally, I apologize for blasting you with a ton of photos. As you know, I don't normally post so many, but there were lots of little things that I loved about this outfit. I wanted to highlight all of those fun bits! *^_^*
