Come Winter, Come Spring

Yes, I am flanked by snow and it sucks. >_< However, in spite of this, the day was quite beautiful. The sun was bright and crisp; the sky was a clear blue; and the biting winds were nowhere to be found. Why does Gaia do this? She provides a beautiful day in December to remind us of a Spring that is far away.

On a day like this, I just couldn't resist wearing my new romper. I thought I wouldn't be able to wear it until Spring, so I was pleased to wear it before the year is out. I've had this little number for months just waiting for the right time to take it for a spin. I got it from my clothing swap group (which I'm sure you're tired of hearing by now haha, but this is where I get most of my clothing! I'm a thrifter at heart.)

The bright teal color just screams Spring, in my mind, and I loved the romper at first sight. I was utterly obsessed with it when it was on ModCloth. It was called the "Teal A Second Glance Romper" on the website and it originally came with a brown belt, but the person who gave me the romper had lost it. I was happy to receive the romper regardless of the missing belt, though. :D It's my absolute favorite!

Here's a little peek into that striped ModCloth tunic that I just can't seem to stop wearing these days. It really brightens up the open v-shaped cut at the shoulder blades and gives the overall look a Spring/Summer feel. I wasn't going to add a belt at all, originally, but then I remembered the thin floral ModCloth belt I had thrifted awhile back and I decided the burst of colors would enhance the Spring theme I was going for. Oh and speaking of things I can't stop wearing, I'm practically living in this fedora hat, you guys. I'm sorry if this annoys you! Haha. I just really love it and it goes with everything! <3 >_<

And here is the romper in all her glory. :D I included some closeups of the fabric below along with some additional shots of my accessories. I love the pleated shoulders and diagonal textured lines throughout.

Oh yeah! I'm wearing my new brown mid-calf boots from UrbanOG! Finally, finally, finally! I've wanted boots like these forever and I couldn't pass up their 20% off + free shipping promotion back in mid-November. I bought another pair of boots very similar to these, but they're a brighter shade of brown. Both boots were "Buy One, Get One Half Off," so I received an additional discount on the order.

Do I know how to shop, or do I know how to shop, eh? Haha :D UrbanOG shoes are fantastic quality. Aside from Hot Topic, I typically get my shoes from UrbanOG. Wonderful customer service, too! ^_^

A Chance For Big Savings This Holiday Season!

I found SAMMYdress quite a while ago, but I had avoided buying anything from the site because it looked like it was primarily geared toward wholesale. The items being offered were incredibly low priced and I was highly skeptical that they would offer the items to everyday folks. I also read a high volume of complaints on their Facebook page relating mostly to shipping delays. So, I just decided to take a pass.

However, last month, a good friend of mine over at Beauty In Insanity blogged about a purchase she made from SAMMYdress and apparently the items she received were basically what she had expected. In the end, she said that her experience with the company had been positive. You can read her post here. Not long after reading that post, I was contacted by a representative of SAMMYdress with a sponsorship opportunity. So, you can imagine how I felt. On the one hand, I've been wanting to buy something from them for awhile, but I just didn't have the confidence. On the other hand, I've read some terrible things, but at least one blogger that I highly respect seems to have fared well with them.

Further, looking through the customer reviews on the website, I found a number of people willing to post actual photos of themselves and the items they purchased. The reviews they left were positive, so that just added more to my confusion. Is this a reputable site or not? There's only one way to find out!

So, I decided to give SAMMYdress a chance. I'm very curious about the quality of their items and their customer service. Just looking through their site, I easily found a dozen items that are offered at other on-line retailers (which I shall not name) for at least 50% off and in some cases the discount is even steeper. I love a good bargain and with the holiday season already upon us, the idea of being able to score items from my other wish lists for 50% off is just too good to pass up. Here are some favorites!
