Wax Poetic

The snow started early in the morning and it snowed all damn day. It was also cold as f*ck and windy, so I felt pretty confident that creepers would be at an all-time low. Boy was I wrong. Haha. I don't know what it is about me. I must give off some kind of silent signal or palpable vibration, because the once desolate street suddenly got busier. I'm talking rando passersby, slow moving vehicles and vehicles parking on the same side of the street I was on. Where all of these people were going, I had no idea.

I know that one set of people in particular had, apparently, no place to be and weren't in any rush, because they parked their car to my immediate right...like right behind me. Then they sat in their car the entire time I was taking photos. Haha. Holy f*cking shit, you guys. Holy f*cking shit. Soooo, yeah. Not only did I have to do my best to pretend that I wasn't freezing my ever loving balls off, but I also had to pretend that I didn't have a pair of randos gawking at me from their running car parked off to the side.

Zeus give me strength. >_< Hehe. Don't even get me started on the dude at the matcha tea place that we went to after this to warm up. I thought his eyes were going to pop out of his skull, he was staring at me so intensely. o_O At any rate, this is just another remix of old stuff made to look new. The vintage poncho was a last minute addition. I tried on a bunch of scarves before the poncho caught my eye. I liked the subdued color contrast and the fact that I kind of felt like a modern gunslinger while wearing it.

Yep. It's a simple outfit without any really complicated layering, but I think it still gets the job done. There are lots of different patterns and textures---leather, knits, fringe, zippers, buckles, etc. I dig it. I wonder if those people creeping me from the comfort of their car liked the outfit. Hmm. I'm going to say, yeah. Yeah, they did. Haha. Seriously, though, you guys. So crazy. Heh. Have a good weekend! Stay warm!

First Snow

I woke up hung over and laden with ungrateful cat. Lately, if she doesn't move, I don't move. It's a voluntary hostage situation of sorts. I'm OK with it, really. :P She had me pinned, but I was able to move just enough to look out the window and then I saw the snow. I thought that my first reaction to those big, clumpy wet flakes would be ire. Snow is inherently irritating, but even more so when wet. >_<

However, I felt...excitement? o_O Wtf?! I don't remember much from the night before....it's possible that I could have hit my head, but....Haha. Yeah. I was giddy. I wanted to go outside, even if that meant disturbing the wheezy slumber of my cat. Now, make no mistake, I'm still lazy AF. So, I put on the most casual, but comfortable outfit that I could muster and quickly, because it would be dark in like an hour.

Hehe. Depressing. T_T I know. So I kept things simple with the snowflake mohair sweater, black high waisted leggings and olive zipper jacket. I could have worn some black boots, but opted for some color contrast instead. I would have done a quick little mohawk, but wet snow = warm chunky knit hat.

The sunglasses (an early XMAS gift) kept the snow out of my eyes and yeah. Now, all I needed to do was get some ramen takeout and hot bubble tea. Totally worth braving a little precipitation. :DDD
