This track has a permanent place in my drum and bass playlists. It's from Lincoln Barrett's November 2005 12 inch entitled "Days Go By / What We Do." Perfect start to the weekend! For a short bio about Barrett and additional tracks, check out my previous blog posts about him! Happy Friday!

This is a rad drum and bass tune from Robert Dickeson's 2012 album, "Omega Point." It has a nomadic, otherworldly feel that I really dig. I think you'll like it, too! If this is your first time hearing Apex, check out my previous blog post about him for a short bio and additional tracks. Enjoy! Happy Wednesday! This is a good one, folks! :D You can find today's track on Ahmud Dookhith's collaborative EP, "They're Not Human / Deeper Love," of September 2012. This track has so much soul, it's jarring. Haha. I'm not used to drum and bass having such passionate vocals. Get this in your ears! Dookhith is a producer and DJ from Colchester, UK. He started out doing breakbeats in the 80s and 90s. After doing a breaks remix of Orbital's "Chime," Dookhith transitioned easily to drum and bass production. It didn't take long for him to make a name for himself as a drum and bass producer in the mid-90s with the release of the jump up anthem, "Terrorist" (1994). By 1996, Dookhith formed three record labels and by 2003 he co-founded Dread Entertainment Agency. Since the release of his debut breakbeats EP, "Ray Keith Just Passing Thru," in 1991, Dookhith has produced 100+ singles and EPs and a little over half a dozen albums. His latest EP is "Dub Dread Sampler 5" (2014) and his latest album is "I Am Renegade" (2012). Stick around! More to come! |
