 This is one of my favorites from Alix Alvarez. It's from his November 2004 EP, "The Critical Point." It's so perfect. All you need to de-stress from a hard day's work is this track and a little bourbon. ;D Originally from the Bronx, Calixto Alix Alvarez III released his first deep house EP, "The Nu Breed," in 2001 and it doesn't look like he has plans to quit any time soon. He's kept quite busy with the production of new tracks almost every year since 2001. His latest release is the "Twenty Scope" 12 inch from February 2014. You can listen to the first track below. It's deep with some hints of darkness. :D Loving the John Beltran remix of this track from Havana-based group, Sin Palabras. It's the group's 2004 debut single and it's dripping with soul. You'll definitely want to give this one a listen! The group combines elements of techno and timba (a Cuban genre of music) in a lot of their tracks and this culminates in a really unique, danceable sound. They released their debut album, "Orisha Dream." in 1999, but only a couple more singles and one other album followed. It doesn't look like the group has released anything new since 2007, so enjoy this rare treat! Deep house all week! Stick around! |
