Here's a classic from the 2001 drum and bass compilation, "Progression Sessions 6." I don't believe MC Conrad Thompson has released anything new since 2008, so enjoy this blast from the past!

Love this guy! His music is so intensely beautiful and eerie. This is Track 3 from Aaron Funk's 2005 album, "Rossz Csillag Alatt Születet." Grab some good head phones and get ready for something new! Originally from Manitoba, Canada, Funk has been active in the music scene since the early 90s. He quickly made a name for himself with the release of the industrial/breakcore album, "Greg Hates Car Culture" in 1999, as it earned him a place on the Planet Mu record label. In time, Funk became a fixture in the electronic music scene and he has released more than two dozen albums and about as many singles and EPs. His latest releases include two EPs from 2012, "Fool The Detector" and "Affectionate." Track 2 from Fool The Detector is pretty rad. You can listen to that below. Hey! Look at that! I'm back! :DDD I'm starting this week of drum and bass goodness with a rad track from Audio Lotion's 2006 2 CD set entitled, "The Finer Essence." It's super chill. Give it a listen! Alex Gamma and René Luther of Audio Lotion released their first album, "Advanced Skin Care" in 1999. After that six albums featuring well crafted concoctions of drum and bass, downtempo and future jazz steadily followed. Unfortunately, things seem to have dropped off for the group after 2010. I'll leave you with a track from Gamma and Luther's latest album entitled, "Bad Timing" (June 2010). So friggin' good! I really hope these guys get back to making tunes, because everything they put out is gold! It hasn't been updated it awhile, but you can check out their Facebook page, if you like! Enjoy! |
