Ursula 1000 - Beat Box Cha-Cha Album: Kinda Kinky (2002) As you've probably guessed, I'm doing another jazz week. I'll be throwing in some samba and other goodies, as well! I'm starting things off with one of my favorites from Ursula 1000. Enjoy!

Signing off with a hip hop classic from Andre Harrell and Alonzo Brown's 1981 "Genius Rap" EP. These guys were huge back in the 80s and they released a number of EPs as well as a single album, "The Champagne of Rap" (1985). Harrell and Brown were known to wear designer suits and ties during their performances. Their partnership was short lived, however, and things dropped off in 1987. Harrell went on to become the head of Motown Records and Brown became a producer and screenwriter. Happy Friday! :D Check out this super chill hip hop tune from Crown City Rockers' debut album, "Earthtones" (2004). Kick off your shoes, make yourself a drink and just relax with this one. Since 2004, the group released a handful of singles and EPs. Their latest album is "The Day After Forever" (2009). Check out Track 3 below. I feel like I've heard it sampled in a house music track. :P Enjoy and stay tuned! I've got one more track left to share and it's a good one! :D |
