Song of the Day: Tanga Chicks - Brazil Over Zurich (Latin House)

2/20/2014

I'm switching gears a bit and bringing you some house music with latin flavor for today and tomorrow. :D The track above is one of my favorites and it's a wildly popular single from Dimitri Derisiotis and Tom Mandolini from 2000 called, "Brasil Over Zurich." I guarantee you'll love it. Check it out!
It seems both Mandolini and Derisiotis produced music through 2005, but then things drop off after that. It's a shame, because these guys are brilliant! There's no official website that I know of, so...yeah. Haha. Enjoy this latin house blast from the past and stay tuned for tomorrow's jam! It'll be worth it!

Song of the Day: Hakan - Sugartown (Disco House)

Aww, yeah! I love my disco house weeks. Hehe. This is a classic from Hakan and a track that's been in regular rotation on my playlists for many years. It's from the "Worldly Pleasures" 12 inch from 1999.

Håkan Lidbo has produced electronic music for more than a decade. His tastes range from techno to house music to experimental beats. He released his first tech house 12 inch called, "New Phase" in 1998 and his debut album, "Before the Beginning" followed in Oct. 1999. Lidbo went on to release more than two dozen albums and a slew of singles and EPs. Over that time period, Lidbo made quite a name for himself and he has done remixes for greats such as Fatboy Slim and Depeche Mode.

I don't think Lidbo has produced anything new in the last couple of years. It seems that he currently has his hands full managing his record label, Container Recordings. I believe his latest album is, "Aerogel" (2011). Click here to listen to Track 5 from that album! Enjoy! I've got a surprise for tomorrow. :D

Man, everybody knows Nick Holder. So, I don't think an introduction is necessary. Haha. This is a classic from the "Fruit Loops" 12 inch of 1995. It's damn good! Total guilty pleasure disco house. :D

Holder's latest album is "My Sound" from March 2013. You can listen to Track 5 below. It's so, so chill!

Stick around! I've got more disco house goodness coming your way!
